About The Program

From 3D printed food to future superfoods, agricultural technologies, world hunger solutions and more, our Future Foods program has been designed to show students the exciting opportunities in the future of food. The future of our food is changing faster now than ever before. With a rapidly growing population, fast, more connected global trade, advancements in technology and a fusion between cultures, the food we eat is changing quickly and will continue to transform even more in coming years. 

The Future Of Food program has been designed to extend students looking at some of the challenges facing our global community when it comes to the production, distribution and consumption of food. Key activities in this program include designing a future-food menu for the year 2050 and developing a restaurant of the future. In addition to creating a future-food menu for the year 2050 and conceptualising a restaurant of the future, students will also engage in exploring sustainable food sources, learn about innovative food technologies, and ideate futuristic dining experiences.

Age Group

This program can be adapted to suit Primary and High School audiences. It is recommended for Grade 3-10 students.

Program Length

This program can be adapted in length to run for one hour, two hours, half a day, a full day in length.

Longer programs allow students to further develop their skills and dive deeper as they bring their ideas to life. Shorter programs are great as a taster experience for students touching lightly on the key topics.
