Deep Learning Unit Development With Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College

Deep learning allows students to further develop their understanding, skills, and capabilities in a range of areas. With focus areas around character, citizenship, collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking, deep learning also helps students develop the skills essential for success in the workforce of the future.

With our focus on cross-curricular, project-based learning opportunities we had the pleasure of teaming up with Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College (BTAC) in Newcastle to deliver these deep learning units of work to inspire and empower their students.

Over the course of 10 weeks, students in years 5-11 worked through two deep learning programs developed by the BOP team and delivered by the BTAC teachers. With years 5-8 students working to design a 'City Of The Future' and years 9-11 students 'Business Building' this was a great opportunity for the school community to develop their 21st century skills.

As part of the project, the BOP team developed and delivered lesson plans, templates and slides to the BTAC teachers to then deliver in the classroom as a series of 10 x 90 minute lessons.

We had an absolute pleasure working with the BTAC team on this project as we worked to empower their teachers to deliver deep learning programs to inspire and engage students, whilst also preparing them for the workforce of the future.
