About The Program

The Careers Of The Future Program is a hands-on careers and future skills experience designed to help students explore the rapidly changing world of work and the opportunities that could shape their future. Through interactive activities and discussions, students investigate emerging industries, technologies and careers while considering how innovation is changing the skills, roles and pathways available to the next generation.

Designed to help students think more broadly and confidently about life beyond school, the program encourages participants to identify their own strengths, interests and values before connecting these with potential future pathways. Along the way, students explore personal branding, resumes, networking and digital profiles while developing practical strategies they can use today to begin building their future career.

Workshop Themes Include:

The Future Of Work Students explore how technology, automation, changing industries and new ways of working are reshaping careers and the skills employers are looking for.
Jobs & Industries Of The Future Students investigate emerging opportunities across industries such as technology, aviation, health, sustainability and the creative industries while discovering careers they may never have considered before.
Strengths, Interests & Career Pathways Students identify their strengths, interests and values before considering how these could connect with different industries, roles and education or training pathways.
Building Your Personal Brand Students explore how young professionals can communicate their strengths and experiences through resumes, portfolios, LinkedIn, networking and their wider digital footprint.
Designing Your Future Career Students bring their learning together by creating their own future job profile, outlining the role, industries involved, skills required and the steps they could begin taking today to move towards that pathway.

The program is designed primarily for Years 10–12 and can be delivered as a half-day, full-day or keynote presentation. Shorter sessions provide an engaging introduction to future careers, while longer programs allow students to dive deeper into personal branding, career research, resumes and pathway planning.

The program works particularly well as a Year 10 subject selection or pathways experience, a senior school careers or work-readiness day, or as an introduction to careers education before students begin work experience, university and training applications or senior pathway planning. It can also be delivered as part of a broader careers event or to help an entire cohort become more excited about the range of opportunities available beyond school. Previous versions have also been used for student and parent pathway evenings and senior student workforce preparation.

Program Outcomes:

By the end of the program, students will:

Develop a stronger understanding of how careers and industries are changing
Explore emerging jobs, industries and future career opportunities
Identify personal strengths, interests and values that could inform future pathways
Build practical skills in personal branding, resumes, networking and career preparation
Develop an individual future career profile and identify practical next steps they can begin taking today

Every program can be tailored to suit the specific goals and expected outcomes of your classroom. Whether you are preparing students for subject selection, work experience, senior pathways, university or training applications, career expos or broader work-readiness initiatives, our team can adapt the experience to align with your students, learning objectives and school priorities.

Age Group

This program has been designed for high school students, specifically for students in Grade 10 - 12.

Program Length

This program can be adapted in length to run for half a day, a full day, or two days.

Longer programs allow students to further develop their skills and dive deeper as they bring their ideas to life. Shorter programs are great as a taster experience for students touching lightly on the key topics.
