About The Program

Program Brief

The Young Publishers Program is a hands-on creative writing experience that introduces students to the world of writing, storytelling and publishing. Through hands-on workshops and creative challenges, students will explore how to turn their ideas into creative stories, books, magazines and digital publications for their audiences.


Designed to build confidence in creativity and writing, the program helps students strengthen their aspirations in the world of writing, literacy and storytelling. Along the way, they will create portfolio-worthy projects and discover exciting future pathways in writing, media, publishing and content creation.


Workshop Themes Include:

  1. Creative Novel Writing

    Students explore storytelling through character development, plot building and creative writing as they develop their own short story or novel concept.

  2. Magazine & Editorial Publishing

    Students work collaboratively to create a magazine concept while exploring journalism, article writing, branding and publication design.

  3. Digital Publishing & Content Creation

    Students explore blogs, digital media and online storytelling while learning how content is created to engage modern audiences.


Program Outcomes:

By the end of the program, students will:

  1. Develop confidence in writing and communication

  2. Strengthen creativity and critical thinking skills

  3. Explore real-world publishing and media processes

  4. Build skills in storytelling, editing and content creation

  5. Create an original written or publishing concept for a real audience


Every program can be tailored to suit the specific goals and expected outcomes of your classroom. Whether you are preparing students for assessment tasks, competitions, project-based learning, showcases or curriculum outcomes, our team can adapt the experience to align with your students, learning objectives and school priorities.

Age Group

This program has been designed for primary school and high school students and can be adapted to meet the different age groups.

Program Length

This program can be adapted in length to run for half a day, one day and two days in length.

Longer programs allow students to further develop their skills and dive deeper as they bring their ideas to life. Shorter programs are great as a taster experience for students, touching lightly on the key topics.
