About The Resource

Building your career does not start after graduation. In fact, high school is one of the best times to begin exploring your interests, building connections and developing the habits that will help you succeed in the workforce.


The Young Professional’s Toolkit is a short, practical resource designed to help high school students start thinking about their future pathway. Through a series of guided reflections and activities, students explore their personal brand, consider their skills and passions and learn how to start building connections in their chosen field.


Throughout the resource, students will explore ideas such as the future of work, the importance of networking and how to present themselves as a young professional. They will also be introduced to platforms such as LinkedIn and learn practical steps they can take today to start building their profile, connecting with mentors and exploring career opportunities.


Designed to be completed in approximately one hour, this activity is ideal for careers classes, mentoring sessions, or students who want to start thinking about how they can stand out as they begin planning their future.
