About The Resource
How can innovation help create a fairer and more inclusive society?
In the Equalityville Global Leaders Challenge Pack, students are introduced to a fictional vibrant city in India facing significant social challenges linked to education, healthcare and gender equality. Working as community leaders, students are challenged to design innovative solutions that improve quality of life and create greater opportunity for all residents.
Throughout the challenge, students step into the role of key stakeholders, including an education advocate, healthcare innovator, gender equality ambassador and minister of inclusive development. Each perspective encourages students to think critically about the needs of different groups within a community and how solutions can be designed to create meaningful long-term impact.
Across three challenge areas, students investigate barriers to education, healthcare inequities and gender inequality while exploring real-world case studies and examples connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As they work through the pack, students are encouraged to balance innovation, feasibility, cultural understanding and social responsibility in every decision they make.
Designed as a flexible challenge-based learning experience, this pack is an effective way to build innovation skills, collaboration, critical thinking and global citizenship. Students work towards preparing a final pitch that communicates their ideas clearly and persuasively, making it ideal for classrooms, extension programs and global education initiatives.
This challenge pack is part of the Global Leaders Challenge Pack suite, which also includes Metropolia and Aquatopia. Many schools choose to offer one scenario to an entire class, while others use all three packs to provide different challenge contexts for student groups.
