About The Resource

The Emerging Entrepreneurs Unit Of Work is a project based learning resource designed to help students explore why businesses exist, how entrepreneurs shape communities and what skills are required to build successful ventures. Through the study of real entrepreneurial journeys, students develop a deeper understanding of business creation, innovation and the decisions that shape entrepreneurial success.

Across the unit, students investigate entrepreneurs from a range of industries and backgrounds, exploring how their businesses began, what challenges they faced and how their ideas evolved over time. Students examine entrepreneurial characteristics such as resilience, innovation, risk taking, adaptability and leadership while also considering the broader economic and social role businesses play in society.

As the unit progresses, students participate in a range of practical entrepreneurial challenges including business simulations, design sprints, brand analysis activities and team challenges that strengthen entrepreneurial thinking in action. They learn how to conduct research using interviews, articles, podcasts, videos and case studies while developing strong note taking and source evaluation skills.

The unit culminates in a multimodal assessment where students create a podcast, video, or magazine style feature exploring the journey of a chosen entrepreneur. Through this process, students strengthen research, communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills while gaining practical insight into entrepreneurship as a future pathway.
