About The Resource
Have you ever wondered what your community might look like in the year 2050? What kinds of homes will we live in, how will we travel, what will schools look like and how might public spaces evolve as technology continues to shape the way we live?
In this activity pack, students are invited to step into the role of a future city designer as they reimagine the spaces, systems and experiences that could define life in the decades ahead. From futuristic public spaces and new transport ideas through to smart homes and future schools, this resource encourages young people to think creatively about how cities can become more sustainable, efficient and enjoyable for everyone.
Throughout the activity pack, students explore real examples of emerging technologies and future focused innovations before applying their own ideas through a series of guided design challenges. They investigate how cities are changing, consider their own ecological footprint and develop solutions that respond to how communities may need to evolve in response to changing lifestyles, population growth and technology.
Designed as a self guided learning experience, this activity pack allows students to work independently as they build their own vision for a future city. The structured challenges guide students step by step through key focus areas while still allowing plenty of room for creativity, problem solving and imagination.
With 23 pages of content and activities, 11 challenges for students to complete and 11 templates to help bring ideas to life, this workbook provides hours of engaging learning for students interested in innovation, sustainability, design and future thinking
