The Young Entrepreneurs Hub
Do you have a businesses or business idea that you're looking to take to the next level? We've got the perfect opportunity for you! Kelvin Grove State College has partnered with the Young Entrepreneurs Hub to give KGSC students the opportunity to take part in a semester-long program to build and grow their business ideas.
As a vehicle for student-lead ventures to transition from the classroom to the real world, we recognise no two businesses or students are the same and tailor a unique program for every young entrepreneur that comes through the hub.
With space for three businesses each semester for KGSC students, now is your chance to apply for this semester!
The Opportunity On Offer
Special Event Invitations
Over the course of the year students, staff and parents involved in or interested in the hub will receive invitations to a series of special events and opportunities to learn and connect with the startup community.
Mentors And Advisors
As part of their time in the Young Entrepreneurs Hub, students will have access to a suite of mentors from the startup and the broader business community to offer advice, support and connections.
The hub manager works with each individual student to offer support, deliver content, share knowledge and make connections. They do everything they can to help you get your business off the ground!
Meet A Past Participant
In this introductory video about the YE Hub, Nick from Power Kip talks about his experience participating in the program in 2020. You’ll hear about the opportunities he had while in the hub, how the program helped him take the next steps for his business, and where Power Kip is now.
Still Have Questions? We Have Answers!
What time commitment is expected from me?
Students take one day each week out of classroom studies to attend. The hub is open and staffed from 9am - 5pm and the day you attend will be decided by yourself and your school.
Where is the YE Hub located?
The Young Entrepreneurs Hub is hosted at the Brisbane Business Hub. This is located at 155 Queen Street, Brisbane above the Regent Theatre.
What do I need to bring?
We ask that students bring a device (preferably a laptop) to work on as well as morning tea and lunch for the day. We've got plenty of stationary, 3D printers and other goodies!
Who else will be there?
Other young entrepreneurs participating in the program will also be in the hub along with the BOP Team who are there to support and guide you. The building that the Young Entrepreneurs Hub is hosted in is home to over 100 startups, entrepreneurs and businesses working across industries so across the course of the semester you'll have a chance to meet some of them too.
What do I wear?
When you join the hub you'll receive a branded black Young Entrepreneurs Hub t-shirt which we ask that you wear when you visit. You can wear this with black pants or a skirt and closed-in shoes of your choice
What does a day in the YE Hub look like?
The program students follow at the Young Entrepreneurs Hub is tailored to each student so no two days will be the same. Your program is based on where you are in your business journey and what you are aiming to achieve from the program. Across the program, you can expect mini masterclasses delivered by the Hub Manager, curated resources, mentoring sessions, reflective time and learning events.
