As creators of the digital economy it is our responsibility to nurture the young people who will shape tomorrow's digital ecosystem. Our Young Innovators Program will see students spending one day developing their 21st century skills as they explore the human side of technology and how digital is shaping our lives and communities now and into the future.
To start the day we will be exploring digital in our cities. In this session we will be looking at how digital is being used in communities around the world to make our lives simpler, easier and more enjoyable. Students will be researching initiatives being led around the world, before then looking at what they can apply to their local communities.
From there we will be exploring jobs of the future. Centred around the research published by Griffith University, Deakin University and Ford Motors, students will be exploring the 100 jobs of the future that are set to appear in Australia over the next 20 years. They will be deciphering the job descriptions, mapping career pathways and creating modern resumes for these roles as they look at some of the opportunities for young people in the workforce today.
Finally we will be looking at designing for social good. This session will see students identifying issues on a personal, local, national and global level before then looking at developing a digital solution for that challenge. This session will see students using s human centred design approach to develop their understanding of the problem before then designing a solution that will help make an impact on their user’s life.
