Operations Manager

As our head of operations, we’re looking for someone with great organisational skills as well as great people skills. ​This role deals strongly with managing team, clients, systems and processes.

 

There will also be an expectation that this person is actively involved in our programs. Previous experience in education is not essential to this role, however the right applicant should be comfortable working with children.

About The Role 

As a head of operations, we’re looking for someone with great organisational skills as well as great people skills. This person will need to be likeable and build quick connections when working with our clients and internal team. As well as this, they also need to be process-driven with an eye for details, ensuring they, as well as the rest of the team, are setting realistic goals and sticking to timelines in order to produce high-quality results for our clients. They need to have management skills as they coordinate between, and oversee members of the team working on a number of projects at any one time.

 

As this role is incredibly varied, breaking down every expected role & responsibility is difficult, but we would expect our next Operations Manager to able to manage the following:

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Team

  1. Regularly coordinating with the team to ensure that work is being completed in a timely manner and to a high standard. This means managing workload effectively, making sure the team is developing, and making sure everyone on the team enjoys working at BOP.

  2. Recruiting new team members and ensuring we are always well staffed as we take on new projects.

 

Client Experience

  1. Ensuring that our clients are being delivered a service that matches their objectives and exceeds their expectations. This involves pre & post program communication via Zoom/phone calls, as well as email communications throughout the project.

  2. Assessing and understanding how our programs can be best adapted and tailored to benefit the client.

 

Systems & Tools

  1. Ensuring that internal processes are simple, effective, and efficient.

  2. Ensuring that information is clearly communicated so that all members of the team, as well as our clients, have all the necessary information required to deliver a successful program. 

 

Bonus - Workshop Facilitation & Content Creation

  1. Whilst not specific to the role of Operations Manager, a big part of working at BOP Industries is being able to help deliver the company's educational content. This includes helping students learn and understand content in workshops, as well as creating, developing, and editing content for BOP's curriculum of workshops and masterclasses. It is an expectation that all members of the BOP team, including our operation manager, are able to assist with these tasks from time to time. 
     

Tasks for this role may also include: ​

  • The rostering and planning of upcoming workshops and projects

  • Setting up systems and handling communications with parents for all programs

  • Tech support for all programs 

  • Management of information and materials in the office 

  • The purchasing, organisation and packing of materials for in classroom programs 

What We're Looking For

This is very much a Swiss Army Knife-type role, where your roles & responsibilities can change regularly. One day you may be meeting with clients and sending invoices, the next you could be training team members or implementing a new technology platform. All of which may need to happen before helping deliver an after-school program about building a City of the Future.

In terms of Skills & Experience, the following would be highly valued:

  • Previous Management or Supervisory Experience

  • Operations or Project Management Skills & Experience

  • Public Speaking & Presentation Skills

  • Customer Service Experience

  • Written Communication Skills

The Details

Hours of Work: Full-Time role. Standard office hours are 9:00am - 5:00pm, with flexibility available. Additional hours and/or weekend-work is also possible.

Start Date: December 2021 / January 2022

Location: Our head office is in WeWork, 310 Edward St, Brisbane. This role also has a number of opportunities to travel to schools locally, regionally, and globally. We also offer flexibility with working from home on certain days of the week. 

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 Per Annum + Super

(Open to Negotiation)
