Fraser Coast Young Business Leaders (High-School)

22 April 2026

Fraser Coast Young Business Leaders (High-School)

Location:

Bundaberg

Cost:

$0.00

The Fraser Coast Young Business Leaders Program, funded by Social Shift, is designed to empower youth in the Fraser Coast region by developing essential entrepreneurial skills and fostering a passion for business.

Students will collaborate with an experienced team from BOP Industries to explore and develop their own business ideas based on personal interests and community needs. Through hands-on workshops and mentorship, they’ll learn foundational business skills—from concept development and planning to launching their venture by the program’s end.

The program is open to Year 7-12 students throughout the Bundaberg & Fraser Coast area, with sessions running during Term 2, 2026.

Program Timeline

The program is delivered across a school term and is designed around three key stages. Each stage builds on the last, supporting students to progress from early ideas through to a final showcase of their work.

Young Business Leaders Hackathon

23rd April 2026 | 9am - 2pm | CQU Bundaberg

This event features a full-day, in-person hackathon aimed at introducing students to entrepreneurship. Students will explore trends, form teams, generate ideas and start building business foundations.

Weekly Virtual Modules

Tuesday Afternoons | 28th April 2026 - 2nd June 2026

Weekly virtual sessions will take place on Tuesday afternoons from April 28 to June 2, 2026. Schools can access the modules flexibly, allowing students to complete them independently, during class or after-school with a teacher while the BOP team is online.

Breakfast Showcase Event

10th June 2026 | 6:30am - 9am | CQU Bundaberg

At the end of the program, students will have an opportunity to either display their businesses through a stalls set up or pitch their business to the local community. This breakfast event will also feature the presentation of certificates and additional seed funding opportunities.

Register A School

Each participating school may nominate up to 20 students. Places across the region are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so we encourage you to confirm your school’s allocation early.

To make the approval process simple, we’ve created a folder containing:

  • Program Information Pack

  • Student Promotional Flyer

  • Risk Assessment

  • Photo Consent Form

  • Public Liability Insurance Certificate

  • Australian Curriculum v9.0 Alignment (Economics & Business Years 7–10)

  • AITSL Professional Standards Alignment (Proficient Teacher Level)

The curriculum alignment outlines clear links to Economics and Business content descriptors including entrepreneurship, markets, budgeting, pricing and decision-making, along with General Capabilities. The AITSL alignment highlights how the program supports Standards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 through authentic, community-connected learning.
