School Holiday Program
Primary School - Monday 6th July
Our Digital Creators school holiday program will see year 4-6 students primary school students from Glasshouse Christian College coming together for one action-packed day of innovating and creating as they work to solve a series of challenges.
In this day-long program, students will be working with our team of facilitators to get hands-on with a range of new and emerging technologies such as holograms, augmented reality, 3D printing and more. From there students will be using this technology and their problem-solving skills to develop a series of out of the box solutions to some real-world challenges.
With programs built by engineers, entrepreneurs, community leaders and educators, these programs have been designed to be a fun and creative way for students to work on some real-world challenges over their holidays.
Our Digital Creators program has been designed for driven and passionate students wanting to learn about technology, engineering and business. Open to students from Glasshouse Christian College in grades 4-6, no prior experience is required and we ask that students come with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Staying Safe While We Learn
Whilst Queensland is doing an exceptional job at crushing the curve, the safety of our learners is always our top priority for us. To ensure we're all staying safe while we learn we will only be opening these programs to students from Glasshouse Christian College. In addition to this, we will be limiting student numbers for the program to a maximum of 20 students.
Finally, we will be cleaning surfaces and equipment between uses and following other directions from the Queensland Government and Glasshouse Christian College to ensure we're creating a safe space for our learners.
What To Bring
Our team will be providing all materials required for challenges and activities. We ask that students provide their own morning tea and lunch on the day and we will have a selection of snacks available throughout the day.
In addition to this, we ask that students bring a water bottle, and a device to work on if they wish. We will provide iPads for research, but if students have their own laptop or device they are more comfortable using, we're happy for them to bring this along.
Students will not need any coding knowledge for this program as we'll be focussing on the creative hands-on side of technology.
Throughout the day students will be given the opportunity to either work alone or in groups and this will be at their own discretion.
The program will be running from 9am - 3pm and students are welcome to be dropped off from 8:30am and picked up before 4:00pm.
